Personal: Wall decoration review

After already reviewing Saal Digital their photo album I got to review their wall decoration, so I decided to go for the standard family portrait. I ordered the Ali-Dibond which comes with great detail and sharpness. It’s quite solid and lightweight and really thin when it hangs on the wall.

I’m really satisfied with this quality and there are many materials to choose from …I wanted to go for an affordable yet good quality and thin wall decoration.

Gear try-out: Olympus E-OM10

olympus om10 fashion THE VIEWFINDER

I had the pleasure to try out the new Olympus E-OM10 …a small and retro looking digital camera. This is a nice addition for the OM-D Series of Olympus because it’s small yet exchanges lenses and it has the looks. So when you take this camera with you it’s more like having a nice retro accessory instead of a bulky camera.

look at how small it really is

On the street I received several compliments about the look of the OM10. It’s easy to fit in my bag and lightweight so it could be your every day camera. Also the performance is nice when shooting steet style and street photography. The 14-42mm lens gives you the most practical view for both total body and portrait shots.

Gear review: Canon 100mm f2.8L Macro IS

This lens review was about to happen right? First it was the lower budget Canon 100mm f2.8 and now it’s time to review the high-end L-version of Canon. And after testing this lens I truly had trouble bringing it back to my partner Camex, who make my gear reviews possible.

This isn’t a lens which pops up in your mind when doing street photography, because it’s a macro lens. However the macro function can be very convenient, because you can shoot up close and gives you great details.

I shot with it and it’s great ….yeah also a bit expensive and chunky. This lens delivers good portrait shots and Continue reading “Gear review: Canon 100mm f2.8L Macro IS”

Another lens review made possible by my partner Camex….this tim I had the pleasure of shooting with the Canon 17-40mm F/4 L wide angle zoom lens. And to be short it totally rocks! Of course I planned for the perfect situation so I could really test it under the right circumstances and with the right purposes. In my opinion this lens is perfect for events …the only thing left was to find that event and of course I did; Fashionchick Redesign Launch Event

STREET PHOTOGRAPHY

Being a street photographer I just had to take this lens on a spin on the streets of course and I really delivers interesting results. A very important advantage of Continue reading “LENS REVIEW: Canon 17-40mm F/4 L”

Lens Review: Canon 24-105mm L

canon 24-205mm L review by THE VIEWFINDER

” The real deal now …not a cup”

I thought it was about time to do a review again. This time it’s the Canon 24-105mm L lens. As you well know my reviews don’t contain technical charts and that sort of technical stuff. Mines are more of a practical point of view: Why buy this lens? And how did I experienced this lens?

The most important advantage
The one thing I found most valuable is the range this lens covers, from a wide angle to a Continue reading “Lens Review: Canon 24-105mm L”

Collaboration: THE VIEWFINDER X CAMEX

I’m excited to tell you guys I have a new partner in crime: CAMEX, for who I will review camera gear. CAMEX is a great photography store based in Arnhem, The Netherlands. I’m glad these kind of stores still exist, where you get advised by real pro’s, learn from their experience/ mistakes and receive the wanted after-sales service …not to mention the ‘serious photography brands’ they offer. Why this collaboration? I’ll tell you why: Continue reading “Collaboration: THE VIEWFINDER X CAMEX”
