Of course this one had to added to the ‘Details of New York’ series ….the Starbucks logo is in my opinion a essential presence on the streets of New York. On almost every street you’ll find a Starbucks store and especially at night you just can’t miss these green dots from a distance.
Spotted this woman inside Starbucks as she was, like me, picking up her fav coffee to start the day. She was quite surprised to be approached but had no problem to be photographed by me.
One the most characteristics on the streets of New York are the fire escapes ….which I really like and even prefer over the modern architecture. Funny story but when I first visited New York I just had to chill on the fire escape and enjoy the view…and so I did, bought some burgers and a coke sat down and just enjoyed the sounds of this beautiful city.
A nice example of New York bicycle fashion. Even though she choses to go safely she did it with flair.
Obvious one of the most characteristic details of New York ….the lights at night. The name ‘City of Light’ may be refer to Paris, but in my opinion it’s way more suitable for New York. I mean not only it’s skyline at night, also the streets and even alleys can be light so nicely. That’s why shooting the streets at night with its ambient light can results into amazing photographs.
One thing that I noticed ..something I don’t see in Amsterdam is the use of helmets on bicycles in New York. By that I don’t mean fashionable ones but the real deal. I do have to say that it’s New York we’re talking about so it’s kinda logical because of the traffic ….I’ve seen it, cycling on those streets could be quite the challenge!
This guys look even suits his retro looking bicycle. Job well done.
